Krabbelstube Feldkirchen
The first house in the new part of the village

In the west of the village center, the village is being expanded in many construction phases over several years. And: the first building in the new part of the village is the crèche!

This public building therefore has an important, identity-creating task. To this end, the crèche has been given an unmistakable, independent design language that marks the village like a lighthouse and is firmly imprinted in the memory of (young) people. Even from a distance, the staircase with the trees planted on the roofs and the significant entrance portal attract everyone’s attention!

But that’s not all: the building also boasts a particularly sustainable construction method. It is constructed using solid bricks - without any additional thermal insulation. Ecological requirements were also taken into account in the rest of the design, and in an exemplary manner: The common rooms are oriented to the north so that overheating in summer can be minimized. Optimized cross-ventilation allows the building to be cooled sufficiently even on hot days. A heat pump with photovoltaic modules provides environmentally friendly heating for the building.
