School village under a green roof “At the transition between town and countryside, the form of the roof relates to the surrounding hills, the classrooms in materials and scale to the neighboring houses. The gym is embedded in the ground in the center of the school. The north-facing slope is extended into the school through the grandstands used for sports events and festivities.
The transparent walls offer vistas from the hall through the whole house and out to the surrounding area. The roof is held up by a steel arch support, the emblem of the school.” (quotation from Otto Kapfinger)
